Marketing a local business on the internet!

This topic comes up often and I love it because there is so little competition marketing a local business online it is very simple to get amazing results. I would say there is a 90% chance your local market is wide open on the Internet.

First you need to determine your keywords or key phrases, You can, will and should have multiple key phrases. Key phrases are commonly searched phrases your prospects would serach for when looking for your services. Google has a great keyword research tool to find good key phrases that are not too hard to get page one ranking. https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

I suggest incorporating your local area into your key phrase. IE: Cleveland Ohio Accounting Firm, Cleveland Ohio CPA, ETC. These are the special phrases that no one is ranking for and can easily be taken. Once you get ranking for your local city go for cities surrounding you.

Ok, so now we have our key phrase. Next step is to write a blog entry using this key phrase over and over again in the post. A good estimate is a 5% keyword saturation.

Now that you have your post written publish it. I would change the post around some and create a few different versions of the article to post to article directories. A great tool to use for this is Unique Article Wizard. UAW will give you the ability to turn your one article into 1000’s of articles and automatically publish them all over the internet for you.

Next step will be to get back links to your page using the key phrase as anchortext. IE: Marketing a local business on the internet. This hyperlink has an anchor text of marketing a local business on the internet. So when you create backlinks at other sites be sure to use your keyphrase as the anchor text.

Using this technique you should be able to easily get a page one rank for your local key phrase.

Another great method for marketing your local business on the internet is to use Google Pay Per Click and target only your local area. Google PPC has provisions for you to only market in your area. This is a great way to be at the top of the of Google with no effort on your part at all. You will have to pay for this traffic though, Google PPC is a pay advertising service.
